SYNOPSIS
Holy Bread is about the hard life of people who smuggle goods in order to support their families. Because of this they are forced to hike arduous mountains putting their lives on the line. The father of a household may be swept to his death by an avalanche, or hit by a soldier's bullets.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Once again, life brings hardship, trouble and bewilderment. "Holy Bread" is a true story of the life of people in Kurdistan. Locked out by the international sanctions, Iran is shut down to the global market. This opened a narrowed path through the high in the sky mountains of Kurdistan for the Kurdish locals in west of Iran to bring goods of all kinds from Iraq in. They are called Kolbar in Kurdish, one who does carry on his back. Yet, these group of poorly benefited in the society are not even the owners but only the carriers.
Director's Bio:
Born 1971 in Kurdistan, Iran, Rahim was an independent filmmaker and screenwriter. He as well was experienced in performing arts and stage theatre. Over the course of twenty years, he made seventeen short and feature fiction and documentaries for some he received a number of prestigious awards.Deeply unfortunate, he was murdered in a staged car crash at the age of 47 at his peak on his way to his home town.
